Da Costa's 31-point game gives him Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award

27-year old forward Agustin Da Costa (191-F-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Atletico Tabare and receives a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had the game-high 31 points adding six rebounds for Tabare in his team's victory, helping them to beat Montevideo (#11, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 89-79. Tabare is placed at 6th position in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Tabare won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Da Costa just recently signed at Tabare and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Da Costa has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.0ppg. Da Costa is in league's top in and averages solid 2.0bpg and 100.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jimmy Nichols Jr. (203-C-2000) of Club Atletico Marne Montevideo. He is American center in his first season at Marne. In the last game Nichols Jr. recorded an impressive 26 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Marne lost that game 71-91 to L.Borges (1-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Nichols Jr. is one of the most experienced players at Marne and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.0ppg (#3). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Gabriel Brun (175-PG-2003) of Colon F.C. (#8). Brun scored 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Despite Brun's great performance the Colon lost 80-93 to Albatros (#1, 1-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Brun as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
