The previous titles for Caracas came in 1974, 1992, 2000 and 2008, while Marinos, the best team of the last decade with 5 titles in 10 seasons, were unable to defend their 2009 championship title this time against the same team they had defeated one year ago. For head coach Nestor Salazar , who was coaching in his sixth straight LPB Finals series, it's his second championship title.
