Gaiteros del Zulia clinched SPB title. They held off Trotamundos in the fifth game of the championship series to conquer the trophy. American swingman Micheal Warren (196-1995, college: CSUN) stepped up and scored 22 points and 4 assists for the winners and swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-1987, college: Marquette) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

The standout swingman Luis Duarte was selected as the Finals MVP of the championship-winning Gaiteros de Zulia. He received multiple other awards, was honored as the Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the First Team. With Duarte's excellent performance, the Gaiteros de Zulia achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 19 to 3 in the regular season. Duarte's excellent performance assisted his team in beating the Trotamundos 4 to 1 in the final series. He previously earned the Best Sixth Man of the Year back in 2023 and named to Honorable Mention last year selection. Duarte was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 25 campaign. Gregory Vargas, 39-year old point guard from the Trotamundos de Carabobo, picked up the Guard of the Year at the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto. He also earned a spot in the First Team. Vargas previously earned Honorable Mention back in 2023, Guard of the Year and voted to the First Team last year. He registered over 12 points per game that season in the league. Vargas led the SPB in assists per game with over 8. He has totalled 2 games of 20 or more points and had double-doubles in 10 games on the year. Sydney Curry, 25-year old American forward from the Marineros de Puerto Plata, was named the Center of the Year of Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto. He graduated from the Grand Canyon State last year. Curry was also selected to the First Team. His court vision propelled him to the fourth spot in points per game an outstanding average of over 18. Curry received Player of the Week award three times during the 25 campaign. He led the SPB in rebounds per game with over 11. Curry has totalled 7 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 2 games. He logged double-doubles in 10 games at the event. Curry's 36 points against the Gladiadores were the most he scored in the 2025 season. 7 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges.
