Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- Venezuelan SF Deivis Ananguren (192-F-85) suffered form a meniscus tear while playing for Once Caldas de Manizales in Colombia's Copa Invitacional and had to undergo surgery in that country, according to Guaros de Lara's General Manager, Tomas Morris , currently working in Puerto La Cruz in a manager's board of Liga Profesional de Baloncesto, heading towards the 2013 season, set to start on January 25th.

Ananguren, who averaged 6.9 points per game in 34 regular season games in LPB 2012, his first injury-free season in the country in at least five years, had even played for Venezuela's Senior NT in the 3x3 World Cup in Athens, Greece, winning the official Dunks Contest.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with him right now and we want him to get well soon, because when he comes back, he'll still be an important part of our plans with the team, he's a part of this family", said the new head coach of Guaros, Scott Fields, when asked about the case in Barquisimeto, where he's currently working alongside assistant coach Chad Baker. "We're going to bring him back home next week and start rehab right away for him to be ready both mentally and physically", said Baker.

In the best case scenario, Anaguren would be back in January of 2013, but reports from doctors will be necesary to determine a more proper approach about his current condition.
