Linabafe 2016 Finals - Game 4 - Bucaneras win third national title, second straight trophy - Nov 21, 2016

Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- Bucaneras de La Guaira was able to defend its crown as Venezuela's champions in Women's Basketball by earning a second straight trophy and third ever as a franchise in the country's Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Femenino (Linabafe), taking down Cangrejas de Monagas in Game 4 of the 2016 Finals, 87-67 at Jose Maria Vargas Dome of La Guaira, to win the series, 3-1.

The home team took a seven-point lead after the first 10 minutes of action (20-13) and came into half time still ahead, 34-28. After a horrible third quarter in the previous game, this time around things were different for the hosts, as they were able to extend the lead to nine points (56-45) entering the last 10 minutes with everything in their favor to demolish the opponents with a 31-point quarter.

Alecia Landaeta , the head coach, won her second straight trophy and has a lifetime 36-3 record as head coach of Bucaneras after this victory.

Endrina Bolivar led Bucaneras with 23 points, Maria Requena (166-PG-90) added 20, Irene Tazon (175-G/F-87) finished up with 12 and Jofranny Guerra (G/F-88) with 11. For Cangrejas, Rosibel Mendoza and Nathaly Castellanos netted 12 points each and Siuly Marcano (186-PF-96) finished up with 11. Jofranny Guerra was named MVP.
