  LNB flashback: Delfines again
The 2004 edition of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto ended on November 19 with the fourth cosecutive win of the Delfines de Miranda. They prevailed 3-1 over Guerreros de Caracas in the league Finals, and their Coach, Francisco "Paco" Diez , has been named the best coach of the league. The most outstanding players in Final Series have been Victor David Diaz (195-F-68, agency: Interperformances, college: Houston), Richard Lugo (209-C-73, college: St.Francis,NY) and import Khalid Reeves (190-G-72, college: Arizona) (190-G-72, college: Arizona), who had joined the team in the final month.

  Axier Sucre awarded
Promising power forward Axier Sucre (199-F-79) has been named the MVP of the 2004 edition of LNB for the second time in a row. Sucre has made great improvements year after year, and is now facing an interesting competition with stars Héctor Romero and Tomas Aguilera in the roster of Marinos de Oriente, the team he will play with in 2005 edition of LPB.

MVP: Axier Sucre (Cocoteros de Paria) In 24 matches, he led the league with 23.7 points per game and was second in rebounds with 9.25 rpg. He was named MVP of the Week in 4 of the calendar’s 10 weeks. He helped his team go to the playoffs.
Rookie of the Year: Luís Bethelmí (Pescadores de Cumana) Placer with a brilliant future ahead of him. In 24 matches, he scored 11.4 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per match.
Coach of the Year: Gustavo García (Tanqueros del Zulia) He was able to take Tanqueros to the LNB Playoffs for the first time, winning the title in West Conference.
Most Improved Player of the Year: Peter Kvietek (Guacharos de Maturín) In spite of being his first year in the league, he soon was able to show his big skills for basketball. In several opportunities he played as a started. He placed in 24 games with a 6.37 ppg average and 4.5 rebounds.
Comeback of the Year: José Ramos (Cocoteros de Paria). The numbers of this veteran, nicknamed “Cheito”, incluye a 19.5 ppg range and a 4.27 rebounds.
