McDaniels comes back to Miners, ex Marinos

KJ McDaniels

Erdenet Miners (MBL) inked 33-year old American 197cm forward KJ McDaniels (college: Clemson) for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Miners as he has played here before. He played most recently at Marinos in Venezuelan LSB league. In 21 SPB games he just recently played he recorded very impressive stats: 15.9ppg, 6.6rpg and 2.4apg last season. He helped them to win the League title. Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan League All-Imports Team and Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan League First Team.
Part of last season he spent at Miners. McDaniels also played for Hangzhou Jingwei (NBL) in Chinese league.
In 2014 he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in second round (32nd overall). The former Clemson University star is in his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. McDaniels has played also professionally in China, Indonesia (Pelita Jaya), Philippines (Bolts, Giga and Warriors), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal), NBA (Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, OKC Thunder and Toronto Raptors), NBA G League (OKC Blue, Grand Rapids Gold and Greensboro Swarm) and Big3 (Killers 3s).
Among many awards he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Indonesian League All-Imports Team in 2025.
