The Regular Season in LPB just started. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bucaneros (1-1) in La Guaira on Monday night. Hosts were edged by Gigantes (1-1) 85-82. The former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) stepped up and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Luis Almanza (196-91) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side Jamaican-Canadian forward Dwayne Smith (198-89, college: G.Washington) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game between Top Four teams took place in La Guaira. host Bucaneros (1-1) defeated Gigantes (1-1) 94-88. Jamaican-Canadian forward Dwayne Smith (198-89, college: G.Washington) nailed 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Emiro Hernandez accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Colombian point guard Fernando Lucena (185-86) came up with 21 points for Gigantes in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Barquisimeto. host Guaros (2-0) smashed Toros (0-2) 96-76. Gregory Echenique fired 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jorge Rondon produced 19 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Barquisimeto. host Guaros (2-0) smashed Toros (0-2) 84-48. Worth to mention a great performance of Jose Vargas who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Bucaneros - Gigantes 82-85
