Venezuelan PF Juan Coronado (203-F-90, college: Liberty), a 27 year-old former member of Venezuela's Senior NT who played for Liberty in the NCAA's Division I and has experience in leagues of Spain, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina, has obtained the Croatian passport and can now be eligible to play under Bosman Ruling conditions in leagues of the European Union members.

Coronado Turkalj, who plays for Guaiqueries de Margarita in Venezuela's Liga Profesional (LPB), will turn 28 next October 11th and is currently evaluating offers from European teams based in Croatia, Italy and Spain, while he could also choose to play in the Chilean league. He's currently attending personal matters in the United States. "I'm planning to join a team after the Christmas break, in January of 2019", he told Latinbasket.com Venezuela.

"I'm very happy because I got my Croatian passport. It was a bit of a long process, as any other citizenship process, but thanks to God I've got it with me now. I wanted to have it before I turned 28 and that's next month", he added.

His grandfather, Ivan Turkalj Pauli, was a Croatian who traveled to Venezuela after World War II and married a Venezuelan lady, the mom of Coronado's mother. He knows that his passport will open the doors of European leagues for him and even mentioned talks with Croatian side Cedevita, "one of the best Croatian teams in their league". He also mentioned possibilities in Spain's LEB Gold, in Italy or in Chile.

"I'd really like to go back to Europe and experience it like I did back in my first year (as a pro) in Spain's LEB Silver", he said, talking about his stint with Zornotza Saskibaloi Taldea. He's also played for teams such as AB Ancud and Puente Alto in Chile's LNB, Huracan Trelew in Argentina's TNA or Club Atletico Olimpia in Uruguay's LUB, as well a for Bucaneros de La Guaira and Guaiqueries de Margarita in Venezuela's LPB.
