Gregory Echenique
Gregory Echenique
#1. This week's number one is an international center Gregory Echenique (206-90, agency: Pensack Sports, college: Creighton, currently plays in Japan). He was the major contributor in a 2-point Shimane Magic's victory against the second-ranked Sendai 89ers (15-6) 74-72 in the Japanese B2 League in Sunday night's game. Echenique had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 19 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 3 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in 45 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Shimane Susanoo Magic (14-7) is placed third. Echenique has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.5ppg, 14.6rpg, 2.5apg, 2.1bpg, 2FGP: 67.6%(144-213) and FT: 70.9% in 17 games he played so far. Echenique is currently a member of the Venezuelan senior national team.
