SLPB: Supersonicos de Miranda ink Manuel Canaval

Venezuelan Center Manuel Canaval (202-F-93), a former pre-squad member of Venezuela's Senior National Team back in 2016 and a 2.06m tall talent from Maracay, has agreed to terms with Supersonicos de Miranda to play in the first edition of Venezuela's Superleague (SLPB).

The 27-year-old player has never played in a Venezuelan pro league and he'll be making his debut in the Superleague. Back in 2013-2014, he was part of Neosho County Community College, averaging 4.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14 games. He moved on to California to play for the Sequoias in the 2014-2015 season.

Houston-Tillotson University was his next house in the NAIA level and in the 2016-2017 season, he averaged 4.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in 25 games.

Canaval will be part of a core that includes newcomers Victor Diaz Jr. (190-G, college: SW Christian) and Kilder Gonzalez (188-G, college: SW Christian). The three players were introduced to the media at a gathering held in Washington, D.C. by team co-owner and co-president, Carlos Morillo.
