Jose Ascanio will play for Spartans

Spartans de Districto Capital Caracas (SLB) added 24-year old international forward Jose Ascanio (204-96) as a reinforcement player for the SLB 2020 Semifinals. He played in the regular season and Quarter Finals for Supersonicos. Ascanio managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 12 SLB games he averaged 6.3ppg and 4.9rpg.
The most of last season he spent at Atenas in Argentinian La Liga Argentina where in 15 games he had 8.7ppg and 4.7rpg. Ascanio also played for Estudiantes in Argentinian La Liga. In 13 games he recorded 5.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.0apg.
He has been a member of Venezuelan international program for some years. Ascanio has been regularly called to Venezuelan senior team since 2018 and previously for U17 National Team back in 2013.
He is a very experienced player. Ascanio has played also professionally in Colombia (Piratas), Spain (Zaragoza and Olivar), Venezuela (Guaros de Lara 2nd team and Guaros) and Peru (EOFap).
Among many awards he won Venezuelan LPB championship title in 2018. Ascanio received also Latinbasket.com Venezuelan LPB All-Rookies Team award in 2018.
