Donta Smith (ex M.Haifa) joins Trotamundos

Trotamundos de Carabobo (SLB) agreed terms with experienced 37-year old American-Venezuelan small forward Donta Smith (201cm-100kg-83, college: SE Illinois JC). He just played at M.Haifa in Israeli Winner League. In 13 games he had 12.8ppg, 5.5rpg, 4.9apg and 1.5spg last season. Smith also played 4 games in Balkan League where he recorded 8.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 5.3apg and 1.3spg.
In 2004 he was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in second round (34th overall). The former Southeastern Illinois College (JUCO) star is in his 18th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Smith is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Smith tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia, Bulgaria, China, Mexico (Fuerza Regia), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros, Carolina, Santeros, Indios and Piratas), France (Pau Lacq Orthez and Levallois), Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem), Italy (Brindisi), Venezuela (Marinos, Espartanos and Bucaneros) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Rondo).
He helped them to make it to the French Leaders Cup Semis final in 2020.
