Caribenas sign Genesis Rivera

Caribenas de Caracas (SLB) signed 25-year old international swingman Genesis Rivera (180cm-96, college: UMass). The last time (21) she played at Pastoras de Lara in Liga Sudamericana. Rivera missed last season due to Covid-19 restrictions and had longer break from professional basketball.
She has been also a member of Venezuelan international program for some years. Rivera has regularly played for Venezuelan senior team since 2015 and previously for U17 National Team back in 2013.
She represented Venezuela at the South American Championships in Tunja (Colombia) three years ago. Her stats at that event were 5 games: 1.6ppg, 2.8rpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others her team was regular season runner-up in Chilean Liga Femenina Group Sur in 2019. Rivera was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Chilean Liga Femenina Honorable Mention in 2019.
She attended University of Massachusetts until 2019 and it will be her third season as a professional player.
