Charles Thomas (ex Brillantes) is a newcomer at Penarol

Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo (LUB) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 36-year old American 202cm power forward Charles Thomas (college: Arkansas) for season 2022-23. Thomas played this summer at Brillantes in Venezuelan SPB league. In 21 games just recently he recorded very impressive stats: 16.0ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.0apg. He was also voted League Player of the Week. The last season he played at Hermine Nantes Atlantique in French ProB where in 19 games he averaged 14.9ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.3apg.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in ten different countries. He has played previously professionally also in Bosnia, Bulgaria (Akademik Sofia), Finland (FoKoPo), Israel (Maccabi Rishon and Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia), Italy (Cantu, Scafati, Ravenna and Legnano Basket Knights), Jordan (ASU Sports Club), Lebanon (Sagesse), Ukraine (Dnipro, Mariupol and Cherkasy) and France (Chorale de Roanne).
Thomas graduated from University of Arkansas in 2008 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
