Evans' 27 points give him Player of the Week award- May 14, 2023
He had the game-high 27 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Broncos in his team's victory, helping them to crush Toros (#10, 3-20) with 20-point margin 102-82. Broncos maintains the 3rd position in their group in Venezuelan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Broncos will need more victories to improve their 17-7 record. In the team's last game Evans had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Broncos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Tyreke Evans averages just after three games 16.0ppg. Second best performed player last round was Pedro Bombino (206-C-2000, agency: Pro Sports) of Toros. He is Cuban center in his first season at Toros. In the last game Bombino recorded impressive 28 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Toros lost that game 82-102 to the higher-ranked Broncos (#3, 17-7). Toros managed to keep the same 10th spot in Western Conference. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Toros managed to get this year. Bombino is one of the most experienced players at Toros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Axiers Sucre (199-F-1978) of Gigantes (#7). Sucre scored 16 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Sucre's great performance Gigantes lost 59-71 to the higher-ranked Guaiqueries (#3, 15-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Gigantes not to end season at such low position in Eastern Conference, however are less than slim as they have already lost 14 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sucre could try to bring Gigantes' a little bit higher in the standings. Sucre has a very solid season. In 22 games in Venezuela he scored 6.8ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Tulio Cobos (197-F-1986) of Trotamundos - 21 points and 10 rebounds 5. Jhonatan Araujo (206-F/C-1996) of Centauros - 12 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists 6.
