American Shooting guard Tim Bond (201-SG-1995, agency: BMS Sport Agency) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pioneros Del Avila, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 28-year old player tried to help (35 points, five rebounds and three assists) his team in a lost game to Spartans (#6, 8-9) 83-89. Pioneros maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Venezuelan SPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pioneros will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Bond had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Pioneros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Eastern Michigan University star has very solid stats this year. Bond is in league's top in assists (6th best: 3.7apg). Worth to mention Bond played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
The second best player in last round's games was another Pioneros' star - young Dominican Rep. Anyeuri Castillo (201-F-1997). Castillo had a very good evening with 22 points and 3 rebounds. Bad luck as Pioneros Del Avila lost that game 83-89 to the lower-ranked Spartans (#6, 8-9). Pioneros managed to keep the same 3rd spot in Group I. His team's 10-8 record is not bad at all. Castillo is one of the most experienced players at Pioneros and similarly like Tim Bond has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was Angolan forward Julio De Assis (203-F-1992) of Llaneros de Guarico (#8). De Assis scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Llaneros, leading his team to a 75-57 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Frontinos (#7, 7-11). Llaneros can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group I. They have rather bad season and 5-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for De Assis he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. De Assis has a very solid season. In 3 games in Venezuela he scored 8.7ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
