Senegalese-American Center Malik Dime (206-C-1992, agency: Slash Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Gladiadores de Anzoategui, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Brillantes (#6, 11-10) 88-78. It allowed Gladiadores to consolidate first place in the Venezuelan SPB. Gladiadores has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 21-2. Dime has many years of experience at Gladiadores, through which he has constantly improved. Malik Dime averages this season 8.4ppg and 5.9rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Tu Holloway (183-PG-1989) of Brillantes de Zulia. Holloway had a very good evening with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Brillantes lost that game 78-88 to the higher-ranked Gladiadores (#1, 21-2). This loss caused Brillantes to drop to 6th position in Group I. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 11-10 record is not bad and everything may still change. Holloway is one of the most experienced players at Brillantes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Luis Duarte (190-G/F-1994) of Broncos BBC de Caracas (#5). Duarte showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Broncos, leading his team to a 104-73 easy win against the lower-ranked Llaneros (#8, 5-17). Broncos needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group I. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 10 lost games. Duarte has a very solid season. In 22 games in Venezuela he scored 9.7ppg. He also has 4.4rpg and a FGP of 70.4%.
