Farmer number one in Venezuela SPB for round 12

American Forward Tony Farmer (201-F-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Marinos de Oriente, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Spartans (#4, 5-4) 79-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Marinos maintains the 2nd position in Venezuelan SPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Marinos will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Farmer had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Marinos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Lee College star has very solid stats this year. Farmer is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.6ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Addison Spruill (195-G-1993) of Toros de Aragua. Spruill had a very good evening with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Toros cruised to a 85-75 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Brillantes (#11, 4-6). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Toros keeps 13th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Spruill is one of the most experienced players at Toros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Taylor Johns (197-C-1994) of Frontinos Del Tachira (#5). Johns scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). Despite Johns' great performance the Frontinos lost 69-71 to the lower-ranked Llaneros (#14, 2-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Frontinos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Johns has a great season in Venezuela. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.3rpg (#1 in league).

10. Erik Thomas (195-PF-1995) of Spartans - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
