Curry's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old American forward Sydney Curry (203-F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Panteras de Miranda and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 31.
He had a double-double of 36 points and 20 rebounds, while his team edged out Gladiadores (#9, 9-11) 108-104. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Panteras maintains the 12th position in Venezuelan league. Panteras is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-13 record. Curry just recently signed at Panteras, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Grand Canyon State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Curry is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.8ppg) and averages solid 52.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Malik Dime (206-C-1992, agency: Slash Sports) of Gladiadores de Anzoategui. He is Senegalese-American center in his first season at Gladiadores. In the last game Dime recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Gladiadores was edged by the higher-ranked Spartans (#3, 13-8) 82-78. Gladiadores managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-11 record. Dime is one of the most experienced players at Gladiadores and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Delwan Graham (200-F-1988, agency: Interperformances) of Llaneros de Guarico (#14). Graham scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Llaneros, leading his team to a 95-93 win against the higher-ranked Toros (#10, 9-13). Llaneros can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 5-16 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Graham has individually a great season in Venezuela. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.3rpg (3rd best).

8. Elijah Minnie (203-PF-1994) of Panteras - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Melvin Zambrano (193-G/F-1995) of Frontinos - 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Willie Reed (211-C/F-1990) of Cocodrilos - 12 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
