Stone number one in Venezuela SPB for round 3

American Diamond Stone (208-C/F-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Marinos de Anzoategui, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Diablos (#11, 0-2) with 33-point margin 114-81. It allowed Marinos to take over top position in the Venezuelan SPB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Marinos already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Stone just recently signed at Marinos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Maryland star has very solid stats this year. Stone is in league's top in points (9th best: 20.0ppg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 62.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Panamanian Eric Romero (210-F/C-1999) of Trotamundos de Carabobo. Romero had a very good evening with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Trotamundos lost that game 71-84 to Gaiteros (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Romero is one of the most experienced players at Trotamundos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Marinos' star - American forward Bryan Jefferson (201-F-1994). Jefferson showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Marinos de Anzoategui, helping his team with a 114-81 easy win against Diablos (#11, 0-2). Marinos started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Jefferson turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Jefferson has a very solid season. In 2 games in Venezuela he scored 14.5ppg.
