Carter's 22 points give him Player of the Week award

26-year old American guard Nahziah Carter (198-G-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Gaiteros de Zulia and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had the game-high 22 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Gaiteros in his team's victory, helping them to beat Panteras (#10, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-77. It allowed Gaiteros to consolidate first place in the Venezuelan league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Gaiteros already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Carter had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Gaiteros' top player in his first season with the team. Nahziah Carter averages this season 13.3ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Austin Trice (203-F-2000) of Piratas de la Guaira. He is American forward in his first season at Piratas. In the last game Trice recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Piratas lost that game 67-78 to the higher-ranked Diablos (#9, 1-2). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Piratas is still at the dead bottom 13th position. 4 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Trice is one of the most experienced players at Piratas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to DeAngelo Stewart (197-SF-1995) of Centauros de Bolivar (#11). Stewart showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Stewart's great performance the Centauros lost 77-81 to the higher-ranked Pioneros (#7, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Centauros can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Stewart has individually a great season in Venezuela. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (4th best).
