SPB 2026 - Piratas get Ernesto Hernandez, send Ruben Gonzalez to Cocodrilos

Piratas de la Guaira (SPB) got 27-year-old ex-international forward Ernesto Hernandez (193cm-1998) from Cocodrilos de Caracas through a trade, by sending Ruben Gonzalez (190-SF-2002) to Cocodrilos. Hernandez played last summer at Cocodrilos. In 23 SPB games in Venezuela, he had 3.8ppg and 2.4rpg. He also played for another Venezuelan team, Cocodrilos de Caracas, earlier that season.
Hernandez was also a member of the Venezuelan international program for some years. He played for the Venezuelan Senior National Team back in 2020 and previously for the Under 21 National Team in 2019.
Hernandez has played previously for five other teams: Monagas, Marinos, Saurios, Pioneros, and Spartans.
Among many awards, his team won the Venezuelan SPB Group II Regular Season in 2024. He was also voted the Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SPB Best Sixth Man of the Year in 2024.
