SPB 2026 - Gaiteros welcome back Miguel Simon

Miguel Simon

Defending champion Gaiteros de Zulia (SPB) signed 31-year-old Dominican Rep. 203cm forward Miguel Simon (college: ASA CC). It is his comeback to Maracaibo as he has played here before. He started the season at Soles in Mexican LBE league. In 14 games he recently played, he averaged an impressive 17.4ppg, 11.0rpg, 2.5apg, and 1.8spg. He helped them reach the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LBE Forward of the Year, voted to All-Imports Team, and League Player of the Week.
Simon represented the Dominican Republic at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus (Greece) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 10 points per game and had 1.5 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Simon has played professionally in Argentina (Penarol), Dominican Republic (Sameji, Indios, Reales, Bameso, and Million), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros), Uruguay (Aguada, Nacional, and Urupan), and Venezuela (Marinos).
His team won the Dominican Republic League Regular Season in 2024.
He graduated from ASA College Brooklyn in 2019 and is currently in his seventh season playing professional basketball.
