Carter number one in Venezuela SPB for round 19 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Nahziah Carter (198-G-1999) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Gaiteros de Zulia, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (33 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Diablos (#9, 3-7) 112-107. It allowed Gaiteros to consolidate first place in the Venezuelan SPB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Gaiteros keeps a perfect 9-0 record. Carter turned to be Gaiteros' top player in his first season with the team. Former The University of Washington star has very solid stats this year. Carter is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.2ppg) and averages impressive 53.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nicolas Palma (197-PF-2004) of Diablos de Miranda. Palma had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Diablos lost that game 107-112 to league's leader Gaiteros (#1, 9-0). Diablos is still in a red zone at 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Palma is one of the most experienced players at Diablos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Panamanian forward Eric Romero (210-F/C-1999) of Trotamundos de Carabobo (#6). Romero scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Romero's great performance the Trotamundos lost 72-79 to the higher-ranked Cocodrilos (#3, 8-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Trotamundos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 4 lost games. Romero has a very solid season. In 11 games in Venezuela he scored 16.7ppg. He also has 7.3rpg, 1.4bpg and a FGP of 75.6%.
