9th ranked Diablos (4-8) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Cocodrilos (9-3) with the biggest margin this round 96-81 on Tuesday night. Cocodrilos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman ArMond Davis (197-1995, college: UCSB) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cocodrilos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaiqueries and Spartans. Diablos at the other side keep the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Heroes.

In the last game of round 22 Pioneros lost to Guaiqueries on the opponent's court 72-81.




Guaiqueries - Pioneros 81-72

Very expected game in Porlamar where 7th ranked Pioneros (6-7) were defeated by third ranked Guaiqueries (9-3) 81-72 on Tuesday. Dominican point guard Gelvis Solano (185-1994, college: Merrimack) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas center Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side the former international point guard Heissler Guillent (186-1986) responded with 22 points and American-Mexican Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Guaiqueries and four Pioneros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaiqueries have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Cocodrilos and Spartans. Pioneros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost.
