Montero number one in Venezuela SPB for round 26 (by Hoops Agents)

Dominican Rep. Luis Montero (203-SF-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Cocodrilos de Caracas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Guaiqueries (#5, 10-6) 91-82. Cocodrilos is placed at 2nd position in Venezuelan SPB. They are still close to the very top. Cocodrilos would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-3 record. In the team's last game Montero had a remarkable 91.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Cocodrilos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former South Plains College star has very solid stats this year. Montero leads league in rebounds with 10.5rpg. Montero is in league's top in assists (7th best: 4.5apg) and averages impressive 2.4spg and 67.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Wilkerman Gomez (190-G-2001) of Panteras de Miranda. Gomez had a very good evening with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Panteras was edged by the higher-ranked Gaiteros (#1, 13-1) 93-89. Panteras are still at the very bottom. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Panteras managed to get this year. Gomez is one of the most experienced players at Panteras and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bahamas forward David Nesbitt (205-PF-1991) of Heroes De Falcon (#9). Nesbitt scored 28 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Heroes, leading his team to a 82-74 win against the higher-ranked Spartans (#3, 11-4). The chances of Heroes not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nesbitt could try to bring Heroes' a little bit higher in the standings. Nesbitt has a very solid season. In 16 games in Venezuela he scored 12.7ppg. He also has 4.8rpg and a FGP of 51.0%.
