 Luis Montero, 31-year old Dominican small forward from the Minas Belo Horizonte, was honored as the Player of the Year at the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto.
He graduated from the South Plains nine years ago.
Montero received multiple other awards, earned the Forward of the Year and was voted to the First Team.
He was previously selected to the Second Team back in 2022 and named to Honorable Mention last year selection.
Montero was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 24 campaign.
He averaged almost 13 points and 8 rebounds per game in the league.
Montero recorded double-doubles in 6 games at the event.
His 19 points against the Panteras were the most he scored in the 2024 season.
He played in the final of the Colombian LPB Clausura in 2023.
The standout point guard Gregory Vargas picked up the Guard of the Year of the championship-winning Gladiadores de Anzoategui.
He was also chosen to the First Team.
With Vargas' outstanding performance, the Gladiadores de Anzoategui achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 22 to 2 in the regular season and 4 to 0 in the Round of 16.

He is ex Lipscomb from 2021.
Ferguson averaged over 6 rebounds per game in the league.
He led the SPB in points per game with over 22.
Ferguson has totalled 12 games of 20 or more points on the year and registered 30 or more points in 2 games.
His 38 points against the Gaiteros were the most he scored in the 2024 season.
