There was a minor upset in Mar del Plata where 11th ranked H.Americano (17-20) was outplayed by thirteenth ranked Penarol (16-22) 95-73 on Wednesday. Penarol outrebounded H.Americano 41-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-90) had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American Tony Mitchell (198-89, college: Alabama) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Penarol players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Carlos Buemo (194-96, agency: BIG) scored 13 points. Penarol maintains thirteenth position with 16-22 record. Loser H.Americano keeps the eleventh place with 20 games lost. Penarol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. H.Americano will play against the league's leader Quimsa (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
