There was a small surprise when third ranked Dep Norte (4-7) won against on the road their close opponent Salta Basket (4-7) 79-72 on Saturday. Forward Lautaro Mare (196-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Celestino Cupulutti (186-93, agency: BIG) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Dep Norte players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Facundo AriasBinda (192-93) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Dep Norte maintains third place with 4-7 record having four points less than leader Independ.O., which they share with defeated Salta Basket. Salta Basket lost their third game in a row. Dep Norte will meet league's second-placed Ameghino in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Salta Basket will play against the league's second-placed Estudiantes T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
