Regular Season Round 7: Corrientes - Catamarca 85-67

Bottom-ranked Catamarca (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-67 loss to fifth ranked Corrientes (3-3) in Corrientes on Saturday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Catamarca's 30. It was a great evening for Agustina Leiva who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Naturalized Colombian center Malvina D'Agostino (184-1) helped adding 11 points and 14 rebounds. Four Corrientes players scored in double figures. At the losing side Rocio Lezcano responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Milagros Acevedo scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Corrientes maintains fifth place with 3-3 record. Loser Catamarca still closes the standings with six games lost. Corrientes will meet at home league's leader Berazategui in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Catamarca will play against the league's second-placed Union Florida (#2) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
