There was a minor upset in La Rioja where 8th ranked Riachuelo LR (8-7) was defeated by tenth ranked Obras (8-6) 84-69. Obras outrebounded Riachuelo LR 50-27 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Venezuelan power forward Fernando Fuenmayor (201-0) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Chilean point guard Felipe Inyaco (192-2) supported him with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Obras players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 7 rebounds by forward Lucas Gallardo (199-1) did not help to save the game for Riachuelo LR. Forward Lautaro Velasquez (200-2) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Riachuelo LR's coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Argentino. Riachuelo LR lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Obras will play against Quimsa (#15) in Santiago del Estero in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
