Regular Season Round 20: San Lorenzo - Instituto 73-79
Date: February 2, 2022
Very predictable result when fourth ranked Instituto (16-6) won against 16th ranked San Lorenzo (6-13) in Almagra 79-73 on Wednesday. Instituto forced 26 San Lorenzo turnovers. The winners were led by point guard Juan Frontera (178-2) who scored that evening 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and point guard Lautaro Urquiza (177-1) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Instituto players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds by forward Martin Sesarego (193-1) did not help to save the game for San Lorenzo. Point guard Franco Actis (178-1) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. San Lorenzo's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto moved-up to second place. San Lorenzo lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Instituto will meet at home Quimsa (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Lorenzo will play against Olimpico (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
