Not a big story in a game in Cordoba where 11th ranked Riachuelo LR (11-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Instituto (15-10) 106-101 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Instituto made 35-of-40 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Luciano Gonzalez (186-1998) who scored 31 points and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Gary Ricks (185-1991, college: Drake) produced 28 points and point guard Nicolas Paletta (179-1987) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Four Instituto and five Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Instituto have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ferro. Riachuelo LR lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Instituto will meet at home higher ranked San Martin (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Riachuelo LR will play against Quimsa (#3) in Santiado del Estero and hope to secure a win.
