Everything went according to plan in Santiago del Estero where eleventh ranked Independiente (8-10) beat 14th ranked Colon SF (2-14) 76-71 on Saturday. Luciano Tambucci (194-1998) fired 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Everton Gomez chipped in 9 points and 13 rebounds. Independiente's coach Fabian Daverio used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Matias Cueva (185-1997) produced 18 points and point guard Tomas Luduena (178-1996) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Colon SF players scored in double figures. Independiente moved-up to tenth place. Colon SF lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Independiente will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Colon SF will play against Estudiantes T.
