Regular Season Round 30: Quimsa - Penarol 77-80

There was an upset in Santiago del Estero where higher ranked Quimsa (17-11) was edged by thirteenth ranked Penarol (13-17) 80-77 on Tuesday. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Lucas Anegon (180-2002) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Ignacio Bednarek (206-2001) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Penarol players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Francisco Corradi (187-2003) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists and Lucas Chiapella (-2004) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Penarol moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Riachuelo LR. Loser Quimsa keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Penarol will meet Olimpico (#15) in the next round. Quimsa will play against Platense (#19) and hope to secure a win.
