Regular Season Round 61: Villa Mitre - Parque Sur 73-67

Very expected game in Bahia Blanca where 15th ranked Parque Sur (5-20) was defeated by seventh ranked Villa Mitre (14-10) 73-67 on Monday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Villa Mitre shot 26 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Parque Sur only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Parque Sur 53-26 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Juan Javier Bollo (203-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Panamanian power forward Jamaal Levy (206-1983, college: Wake Forest) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Villa Mitre players scored in double figures. Forward Jeremias Ledesma (193-1996) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and swingman Elnes Bolling (193-1991) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Parque Sur's coach Ivan Paolazzi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Villa Mitre have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zarate Basket. Parque Sur lost sixteenth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Villa Mitre will meet at home higher ranked Ciclista (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Parque Sur will play against Del Progreso (#10) and hope to secure a win.
