The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Obera's (18-16) road loss to eighth ranked Regatas (20-15) 62-80 on Saturday. Regatas shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Nicolas Aguirre (189-1988) who scored 21 points. American center Gary McGhee (210-1988, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) produced 18 points and Jamaican power forward Clint Robinson (203-1994, college: UIC) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Regatas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with San Martin. Loser Obera keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Regatas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obera will play against Comunicaciones (#15) in Mercedes and hope to secure a win.
