Regular Season Round 39: Union - Regatas 83-99

Very expected game in Santa Fe where 14th ranked Union (15-24) was defeated by sixth ranked Regatas (26-11) 99-83 on Saturday. Regatas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for Fabio Gauto (190-2002) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Dominican center Rey Abad (210-2002) helped adding 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Regatas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Jeronimo Muller (183-2002) with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Joel Peralta (196-2003) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Union's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Regatas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Instituto. Loser Union keeps the fourteenth position with 24 games lost. Regatas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Union will play against San Martin (#3) and hope to secure a win.
