Regular Season Round 4: Quimsa - Riachuelo LR 84-64

There was a surprise result when eighteenth ranked Quimsa (2-3) rolled over higher ranked Riachuelo LR (1-3) in Santiado del Estero 84-64 on Sunday. The winners were led by American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by forward Mariano Fierro (200-1986) did not help to save the game for Riachuelo LR. American center Deionte Simmons (205-1996, college: Chicago St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quimsa moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Obras and La Union. Riachuelo LR lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Quimsa will meet at home higher ranked San Martin (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Riachuelo LR will play against Platense (#10) and hope to win that game.
