Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Olimpico (4-0) outplayed 8th ranked Platense (2-2) in La Banda 75-52 on Tuesday. Olimpico outrebounded Platense 57-30 including a 43-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international center Roberto Acuna (208-1990) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Elyjah Clark (190-1998, college: MSSU) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Olimpico players scored in double figures. Coach Leonardo Gutierrez's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by Uruguayan-Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) did not help to save the game for Platense. Swingman Julian Morales (195) added 8 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Olimpico have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Platense keeps the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with Ferro and Penarol. Olimpico will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Platense will play against Riachuelo LR (#18) in La Rioja and hope to secure a win.
