Everything could happen in Formosa at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Obras and 11th ranked La Union had identical 2-3 record. But La Union was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Buenos Aires 77-71 on Friday night. The best player for the winners was American Isaac Copeland (206-1995, college: Nebraska) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) produced 29 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import guard Michael Henry (196-1995, college: Buffalo St.) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Obras (3-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser La Union dropped to the fifteenth position with four games lost. Obras will meet at home San Lorenzo (#10) in the next round. La Union will play against Boca (#13) in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
