There was a small surprise in Buenos Aires where thirteenth ranked Ferro (3-2) edged 11th ranked Boca (2-2) 99-96 on Sunday. Ferro made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Juan Laterza (180-1997) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. Swingman Federico Grun (191-1996) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Franco Balbi (188-1989) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Five Ferro and four Boca players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ferro. They moved-up to sixth place.
