There was a small surprise in Buenos Aires where thirteenth ranked Ferro (3-2) edged 11th ranked Boca (2-2) 99-96 on Sunday. Ferro made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Juan Laterza (180-1997) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. Swingman Federico Grun (191-1996) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Franco Balbi (188-1989) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Five Ferro and four Boca players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ferro. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Boca dropped to the thirteenth position with two games lost. Ferro will meet league's leader Instituto in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
