The most surprising game was the first loss of Olimpico (7-1) in La Banda on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Regatas (5-5) 78-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Olimpico. 24 personal fouls committed by Olimpico helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Rodney Green (197-1988, college: La Salle) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Regatas players scored in double figures. Forward Patricio Tabarez (195-1991) replied with 21 points and international Leonardo Lema (204-1998) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico. Olimpico's coach Leonardo Gutierrez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Regatas moved-up to ninth place. Olimpico at the other side keeps the fourth position with one game lost. Regatas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Olimpico will play on the road against the league's leader Instituto (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
