Regular Season Round 10: Independ.O. - Obras 65-68
Date: November 26, 2022
Sixteenth-ranked Independ.O. (2-5) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Obras (9-3) in Olivia on Saturday. The visitors from Buenos Aires managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) notched 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) supported him with 11 points. Four Obras players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by power forward Fernando Martina (201-1981) did not help to save the game for Independ.O.. Center Cristian Scaramuzzino (206-1992) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Obras have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-3 record having 2 victories less than leader Instituto. Newly promoted Independ.O. keeps the sixteenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Riachuelo LR. Obras will meet Argentino (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Independ.O. will play against Quimsa and hope to secure a win.
