There was an upset in Santa Fe where higher ranked Quimsa (7-5) was defeated by eighteenth ranked Union SF (3-7) 76-66 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Mateo Bolivar (187-1992) who scored 19 points and 8 assists. Center Ignacio Alessio (203-1987) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international Mauro Cosolito (195-1988) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Union SF moved-up to seventeenth place. Loser Quimsa keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Union SF will meet higher ranked Obras (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will play against Atenas and hope to secure a win.
