Regular Season Round 25: Gimnasia - Instituto 62-59

The most exciting game of round 25 in the LDD took place in Comodoro Rivadavia. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Instituto (13-3) to third ranked Gimnasia CR (14-5) 62-59 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Instituto. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban swingman Marcos Chacon (194-2003, agency: Pro Sports) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!). Dominican swingman Angel Reyes (201-2002) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Bruno Abratte (174-2004) answered with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Juan Frontera (178-2002) added 12 points in the effort for Instituto. Gimnasia CR have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Instituto at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Gimnasia CR are looking forward to face Boca Jrs (#8) in Buenos Aires in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Instituto will play on the road against San Lorenzo (#15) in Almagra and is hoping to win this game.
