Important game to mention about took place in La Rioja. Eleventh ranked Riachuelo LR (11-9) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Penarol (13-7) 61-60 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Penarol. Venezuelan forward Keiver Marcano (201-2003) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Francisco Dalpino supported him with 10 points. Riachuelo LR's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 13 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks by Ignacio Bednarek (206-2001) did not help to save the game for Penarol. Guard Facundo Tolosa (190-2002) added 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Riachuelo LR moved-up to tenth place. Penarol at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Regatas. Riachuelo LR will play against Comunicaciones (#17) in Mercedes in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Penarol will play at home against Atenas (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
