Regular Season Round 40: Rivadavia - GEPU 74-78

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Rivadavia (11-17) was defeated at home by fourth ranked GEPU (20-7) 78-74 on Saturday. GEPU dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rivadavia's 34. Worth to mention a great performance of American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU, agency: SLN) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side center Abel Trejo (204-1990) responded with 8 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Tobias Cravero (197-1999) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Rivadavia's coach Sergio Andreoli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. GEPU have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted GEPU maintains fourth position with 20-7 record. Loser Rivadavia dropped to the twelfth place with 17 games lost. GEPU will meet Jachal (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rivadavia will play against CAO Ceres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
