Regular Season Round 47: Instituto - Obera 83-53

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Instituto as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Instituto smashed leader Obera in Cordoba 83-53. They outrebounded Obera 33-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Kadir Pomare who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Ignacio Beltramino (179) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Instituto players scored in double figures. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Francisco Tarnowyk (192-2001) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Nicolas Quiroga (191-2003) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Instituto (29-3) have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Obera at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. Obera will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Instituto will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Comunicaciones at Mercedes.
